Caylin Crawford, a student in the Industrial Hygiene program, was recently featured in a series of videos produced by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA) highlighting members of the AIHA PR(IH)DE Committee. The series includes four short videos in which PR(IH)DE committee members shared their perspectives on how individuals and organizations can adopt inclusivity in the workplace and make it a safer space for everyone.
The four video topics are:
- How does inclusivity make workplaces safer?
- How can OEHS professionals cultivate inclusion in the workplace?
- A message to LGBTQIA+ individuals thinking about pursuing a career in OEHS
- AIHA PR(IH)DE Committee: Furthering LGBTQIA+ inclusion and equity in the workplace
The mission of the AIHA PR(IH)DE Committee is to support and promote the professional growth and development of those in the fields of industrial hygiene (IH) and occupational and environmental health and safety (OEHS) who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and all other sexual orientations and gender identities, as well as their allies/supporters, through networking, mentorship, and research. Membership is open to all who strive to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion in the IH and OEHS professions and their associated practices.
The purpose is to foster a visible and inclusive environment that promotes the health, safety, and well-being of its members, allowing for open and supportive dialogue and opportunities for collaboration.
